DAY
2 ARRIVE MANCHESTER - CONWY - CAERNARFON
AREA (3 NIGHTS)
We will be met at the airport by our Tour manager/guide, where
we will board our own private coach and transfer into the
beautiful Welsh countryside. We will stop in the historic
town of Conwy and visit the Castle and view
the Town Walls. Conwy is set apart
from other medieval town by its amazingly well preserved town
walls. Fortified with 21 towers and three gateways, the walls
form an almost unbroken shield around the old town. The Castle,
built in the late 13th century by Edward I, is an imposing
structure that was built on a rock outcrop overlooking the
entrance of the River Conwy. We continue on to Caernarfon,
our base for the next three nights.
DAY
3 CAERNARFON
This morning we will visit Caernarfon’s magnificent
Castle. Commissioned by Henry I back in the
13th century, it is where Prince Charles was invested as Prince
of Wales. This busy town’s ancient walls merge with
shopping streets that spread beyond the medieval center and
open into a market square. We will have time to explore this
area today before our first concert.

4 DAY TRIP TO PORTMEIRION AND PWLLHELI
Today we will visit the unique Italianate village
of Portmeirion. Created by an eccentric Welsh
architect, Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, the town has about 50
buildings in styles that range from Oriental to Gothic that
surround a central square. This eclectic location has been
the site of many films and television programs over the years.
This afternoon we will spend in Pwllheli a traditional market-town
of the beautiful Lleyn Peninsula. We will return to our hotel
in the Caernarfon area for the evening.

5 CAERNARFON AREA - SNOWDONIA - ABERYSTWYTH
AREA (2 NIGHTS)
This morning we will depart and drive through the
scenic Snowdonia National Park. Named after
Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, the region's nine
mountain ranges provide a varied landscape of steep river
gorges, waterfalls and green valleys. We continue to Aberystwyth,
a charming university and resort town nestled between three
hills and two beaches, and home to castle ruins, a pier, and
the harbor.

6 ABERYSTWYTH - VALE OF RHEIDOL RAILWAY
This morning we will depart from center of town
and take a ride on the historic Valley of Rheidol
Steam Railway. Built in 1902, the railway was first
used to serve the lead mines in the area. Today our 12 mile,
one hour journey will take us through the rugged terrain and
spectacular views of the wooded Rheidol Valley.We will stop
at Devil’s Bridge, where we will view
three bridges that span the Mynach River and 800 years of
history. We will take the train back to Aberystwyth and prepare
for our concert this evening.

7 ABERYSTWYTH AREA - BALA - LLANGOLLEN
AREA (2
NIGHTS)
Today we travel between the Aran and Arenig mountains to Bala
Lake, the largest natural lake in Wales. Subject to many myths
and legends, the lake said to be inhabited by a monster affectionately
known as Teggie. Tonight we will check into our hotel in the
Llangollen area.

8 LLANGOLLEN
Llangollen is best known for its International Music Festival
in July. Today we experience a once in a lifetime Canal
Boat Trip from the Llangollen Wharf. While traveling
through the beautiful Dee Valley we will cross the Dee River
on the Pontcysllte Aqueduct. Finished in 1805, this miraculous
engineering feat stretches over 1000 feet at a height 126
feet above the river.

9 LLANGOLLEN AREA - CHESTER AREA (1 NIGHT)
We make our way to Chester today to visit the magnificent
red sandstone Cathedral where we see an unusual
feature of the Cathedral its freestanding Bell Tower, or campanile.
Built in 1974, it is the first such separate bell tower built
in Britain since the fifteenth century. The city abounds in
medieval architecture and beautiful half-timbered buildings.
The most famous of these is the complex known as "The
Rows", a series of covered galleries above street-level
shops lining Watergate, Eastgate, and Bridge Street. The layout
of The Rows dates back to the 13th century. The rest of the
day is free to explore Chester at your leisure.

10 DEPART FROM MANCHESTER
Your enjoyable and rewarding tour will come to
an end as your guide accompanies you to the airport for the
return flight home.
