Community and Contribution Through Global and Civic Engagement
Casterbridge Planet Earth offers a wide variety of programs and experiences around the globe that stress community involvement and volunteering as part of your travel experience. We currently have over 100 partners, contacts and locations worldwide where we can link education and cultural immersion with practical experience of community service, either overseas or within North America.
Our Planet Earth service-learning tours aim to develop a lifelong commitment to service and leadership. We hope they will promote understanding of local community issues, as well as a deeper understanding of the interrelatedness of communities around the world.
Community Service Tours
The aim of our community service programs is to enable you to become more aware of the issues facing other communities, such as development and education issues, pollution, and inadequate infrastructure and facilities. Many of our programs help redress some of these issues.
We want our groups to interact with people from other communities to explore the ways they are dealing with these issues and to learn from them about how best they should be tackled.
By spending time volunteering in one of countless projects we promote across six continents, you will help, learn, and share in a new awareness of the way communities around the world are interdependent.
Through our community development projects, we aim to provide all groups with a travel experience that delivers meaningful service and make a difference to a community in need.

The Global Classroom
Planet Earth programs can take classroom lessons or areas of academic interest and see how they translate to the reality of local communities worldwide. We can take you to a variety of sites, such as schools, orphanages, housing developments and infrastructure projects, and let your groups examine and explore real issues for themselves.
By linking travel experiences with community involvement and volunteerism, Planet Earth groups feel that they are not merely observing, but are proactively engaged in helping to better the community they have come to see.
