DAY
1 DEPARTURE
Enjoy full-meal service on your scheduled flight to
Bangkok.
DAY
2 HANOI
You will be met at the airport by your guide and transferred
to your hotel. After dinner enjoy the water puppet
show.
DAY 3 HANOI - HA LONG
CITY - HANOI
This morning we will leave Hanoi for Ha Long Bay to
enjoy a half-day cruise through spectacular scenery
at this World Natural Heritage site. Lunch is provided
on the cruise. We then transfer back to Hanoi for
dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY
4 HANOI
Today we will have a full day city tour of Hanoi,
taking in the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the One Pillar
Pagoda, the Temple of Literature and the Fine Arts
Museum. Following a bicycle tour of the city's sights
with our guide, we will visit the old quarter, and
have the chance for a shop till you drop expedition.
This evening we board the Reunification Express for
an overnight train journey. Our destination is the
ancient capital of Hue.
DAY
5 HUE
Before we begin our tour of Hue, there will be time
for brunch, after which we will take a bicycle tour
around this fabulous city. A visit to Hue would not
be complete without taking in attractions such as
the Citadel, the Forbidden Purple City, the Imperial
Museum and the Dong Ba market.
DAY
6 HUE
Today we cruise along the Perfume River out to the
countryside. Being the ancient capital, Hue is surrounded
with tombs of emperors in past; we will make a visit
to the ornate Minh Mang's tomb and the eccentric Tu
Duc's tomb. We will enjoy lunch while cruising back,
stopping on the way to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda,
considered the unofficial symbol of Hue.
DAY
7 HUE - DANANG - HOI AN
Today's destination is the old trading town of Hoi
An. Along the way we will stop at the Cham Museum,
the famed China Beach, and Marble Mountains. On our
arrival in Hoi An, we will spend the rest of the afternoon
exploring.
DAY
8 HOI AN - HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON)
This morning we fly to Ho Chi Minh City. After an
early lunch, we embark on a bus tour of the city.
The tour will include a visit to Cholon, Saigon's
Chinatown and home to Vietnam's biggest market, the
Reunification Palace and the War Crimes Museum. This
evening we will head out for a night on the town.
DAY 9 CU CHI TUNNELS
& TAY NINH
Today we drive to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. This amazing
network of tunnels, which stretches for over 150 miles
and is three levels deep, this site gives the visitor
a feel of what underground life was like in the Vietnam
war. From here we drive to Tay Ninh, the headquarters
for the Cao Dai Sect.
DAY
10 HO CHI MINH - MEKONG DELTA
The Mekong Delta is often referred to as the rice
bowl of Vietnam. This fertile Delta is also famous
for its tropical fruits and flowers. Traditional transportation
here is by boat along a vast network of canals and
channels. Boating along these canals and visiting
the floating markets always proves to be a fascinating
experience. We also enjoy a bonsai garden and visit
a snake farm that breeds snakes for snake wine.
DAY
11 MEKONG DELTA TO LONDON
Your guide accompanies you to the airport for the
return flight home. Your flight arrives back in the
UK the same day.
DAY
12 ARRIVE BACK IN THE UK
Today we will arrive back in the UK from an overnight
flight.
