DAY
1 FLY FROM LONDON TO NAIROBI
Fly from London Heathrow or Gatwick with a major airline.
DAY
2 ARRIVE AT NAIROBI – ELSAMERE
Land in Nairobi and clear customs and immigration.
The group will first visit the Giraffe Sanctuary.
A packed lunch is provided en route to Elsamere Field
Study Centre. This was the home of the late Joy Adamson
of Elsa fame, set in a beautiful location on the shores
of Lake Naivasha. After checking-in and some leisure
time, we will visit the museum including a slide show.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
DAY 3 LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL
PARK
This morning we visit Lake Nakuru National Park, one
of the finest bird sanctuaries in the world with regular
sightings of one million flamingoes feeding on the
lake. This stunning Park is also home to a huge variety
of wildlife including rhino, lion, leopard and giraffe.
There will be some leisure time and lunch at Baboon
Rock. We then return to Elsamere.
DAY 4 LAKE NAIVASHA
Early breakfast and drive to Lake Naivasha, the only
fresh water lake in the Rift Valley. We will take
a boat trip on the Lake using Elsamere boats to enjoy
excellent viewing of hippos and birds, or try fishing
for bass or tilapia. We will make a trip to a local
Flower Farm and Plantation to learn about Kenya’s
horticulture industry. Finally, we will make a (provisional)
visit to Longonot Primary School for cultural activities,
which is always popular with the local children and
visitors. Return to Elsamere for dinner and overnight.
DAY
5 TO KIGIO WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY
We start the morning off with a guided tour and talk
of the Wildlife Sanctuary by a local ranger. The sanctuary
was founded in 1997 with the plan to protect the biodiversity
and to create a sustainable eco tourism destination.
There are now many species of wildlife on the land
and the habitat is flourishing. We then visit a local
school called Kimbo Primary School. We will camp at
one of the lodges nearby.
DAY 6 MOUNT LONGONOT
NATIONAL PARK
We start the morning with a full day visit to Mt.
Longonot National Park. We have an easy hike and climb
to the top of Mt Longonot, a dormant volcano with
a perfect crater, which offers dramatic views in every
direction of the Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha and Mt
Suswa to the south. We then return to the lodge for
dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY
7 HELL’S GATE NATIONAL PARK – LAKE NAIVASHA
After our journey from Kigio, we arrive at our hotel
in Naivasha. We will have lunch, and in the afternoon
drive to Hells Gate National Park, which has awesome
scenery. We then have a 2-hour trek with a Ranger-guide
walking amongst the wildlife. We return to our hotel
for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8 NAIVASHA –
MASAI MARA
We have breakfast and then drive to Masai Mara. We
will arrive in good time for lunch at our Lodge. We
will check-in and have some leisure time. In the afternoon
we will have a game drive with a driver-guide. A natural
extension of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania,
the Mara is world famous for its vast assemblages
of plains game together with their associated predators.
Finally we will return to the lodge for dinner and
an overnight stay.
DAY 9 MASAI MARA
Today we will have an early morning game drive. Then
we will visit a traditional Masaai homestead and have
a picnic lunch. After a long day we will drive back
to Nairobi. In the evening we will drive to a restaurant
for an early dinner.

10 ARRIVE UK
This morning we head to the airport to catch our flight
back to the UK. Arrive back in London this afternoon.
