Four enormous statues of the Pharaoh, each 65 feet high, majestically guard the entrance to the Great Temple. Nearby is the Temple of Hathor, carved out of solid rock. Built 3,200 years ago, the temples were painstakingly moved in the mid 1960s piece by ancient piece to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. We drive on to Aswan, where we will ride in a picturesque Felucca Sailboat to explore Elephantine Island, the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener's Island and the Mausoleum of Aga Khan.

DAY 5 ASWAN - KOM OMBO - EDFU - LUXOR
In the morning we will tour the beautiful Temple of Isis at Philae, the spectacular High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk. We will then drive to Kom Ombo, where we visit the Ptolemic Temple and see 2,000 year-old mummified crocodiles. We continue on to Edfu and on the way, we can watch farmers tilling the fields just as their ancestors did 5,000 years ago. At Edfu, we will visit the Temple of Horus, one of the world's best-preserved ancient buildings. We continue to Luxor, known as Thebes in ancient times and home to one third of the world's antiquities.

DAY 6 VALLEY OF THE KINGS
This morning we explore the Valley of the Kings, where King Tut's Tomb was discovered. This is followed by a visit to the stately Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and other wonders of the past, including the Valley of Nobles, Valley of the Queens, Colossi of Memnon and Temple of Medinet Habu.
