DAY
1 DEPARTURE -
Enjoy full-meal service on your scheduled flight to
Beijing.
DAY
2 BEIJING - You
will be met by an English speaking guide and transferred
to your hotel in a good location. Dinner will be at
a good local restaurant.
DAY
3 BEIJING - Beijing
is one of the most fascinating cities in the world and
our sightseeing will start at Tiananmen Square, the
largest in the world and the centre of the capital city,
very much the symbol of modern China. We will pass through
the Heavenly Gate into the Forbidden City, the largest
ancient palace where 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing
dynasties lived since the 15th century. Our day will
also include a visit to the Temple of Heaven, considered
to be the perfection of Ming architecture.
DAY 4 BEIJING
- Today we continue to one of the world's greatest architectural
wonders, the world famous Great Wall, 4,000 miles long
and dating back to China's first dynasty (Qin dynasty).
We visit the most famous and magnificent section of
the wall at Ba Da Ling. On the return to Beijing we
visit the Ming Tombs, the underground palace where 13
Chinese Emperors are buried in an exquisite valley setting.
An evening Circus Acrobatic Performance is on our schedule.
DAY 5 BEIJING - OVERNIGHT
TRAIN TO XIAN - This morning we visit
Beihai Park, popular with local residents. After lunch,
we take train K55 (soft sleeper), which drives through
the night.

6 ARRIVE XIAN - TERRACOTTA WARRIORS
- XIAN - We arrive in Xian and will
be met by a local English speaking guide. After transfer
to your hotel, we have breakfast. We will then see the
ancient city wall of Ming dynasty and ascend the Bell
Tower on Xian's city gates. After lunch we will visit
the Museum of the Qin Emperor's Tomb (Terracotta Warriors),
an archaeological site displaying the life-like army
of terracotta warriors and horses that guard the tomb
of Qin Shihuangdi, the first emperor of China.
DAY
7 XIAN - FLIGHT TO BEIJING
- We will begin our morning with a visit to the Big
Wild Goose Pagoda, a seven-storey structure built in
652 AD. Our day continues with a visit to the Banpo
Museum, which contains the meticulously restored ruins
of a 6,000 year-old Neolithic village. This afternoon
we take a flight to Beijing.
DAY
8 BEIJING - This
morning we will visit the Summer Palace, where royal
families came for rest and relaxation. Our day continues
with a visit to the True Awakening Temple. Today the
temple houses the Beijing Museum of Stone Carvings with
a collection of over 2,000 pieces of stone carvings
from ancient times. This evening we will have a special
Beijing Duck dinner.
DAY
9 BEIJING - Our
final day in Beijing will begin with a visit to Beijing
Zoo, which contains over 550 species and of course panda
bears, which have their own section of the zoo. Our
day will conclude on Wangfujing Street in the heart
of Beijing. The street is often called the "Champs
Elysees of the East" and has recently been renovated
as a pedestrian street.
DAY
10 BEIJING TO LONDON
- Your guide escorts you to the airport for your return
flight home. Your flight arrives back in the UK the
same day.
