DAY
1 LONDON TO SAN JOSE
- Fly from London and arrive in San Jose. Meet your
guide and transfer to your hotel.
DAY
2 IRAZU NATIONAL PARK & VOLCANO-LANKESTER
GARDEN - Irazu Volcano National Park
is situated in the Central Volcanic Cordillera. We will
drive almost to the edge of El Principal where there
is a dramatic look-out point over the crater. At 3,432
metres high, it is the highest in the country. At 1,360
metres above sea, the Lankester Garden has a renowned
orchid collection and excellent facilities for botanical
research.

3 SAN JOSE - POAS NATIONAL PARK
& VOLCANO- LA PAZ WATERFALL - LA FORTUNA
- The Poas Volcano is one of the world's largest geysers
with an awesome crater, over 1.5 kilometres wide! The
volcano is active, but completely safe for viewing.
In addition to the volcano, the Poas National Park is
a 9,884-acre reserve with rich tropical vegetation and
animal life. Our tour includes a hike through the surrounding
forest that is teeming with typical plant life and exotic
birds. The next stop is La Paz Waterfall; over seventy
acres of lush landscaping, towering waterfalls, hummingbird
gardens and the largest butterfly observatory in the
world. Your guide will walk you through the trails and
here you will experience the majesty of five incredible
waterfalls as you walk right next to the magnificent
falls.

4 ARENAL NATIONAL PARK & VOLCANO
- TABACON HOT SPRINGS - The Arenal Volcano
is an active and almost perfect cone 1,633 metres high,
whose explosive eruptions of viscous lava provide an
extraordinary spectacle. We witness this from a very
safe distance! Since becoming active again, it has emitted
over 60 lava flows and the phenomenon of forest succession
can be seen on some of them. We continue to Tabacon
where you will enjoy the beauty and soothing feeling
of the hot springs, waterfalls and mineral pools.

5 LA FORTUNA - ARENAL HANGING
BRIDGES - RINCON DE LA VIEJA - The visit
to the new attraction of the Hanging Bridges of the
Arenal consists of a crossing on 15 bridges that span
the tropical humid forest and a circuit of 3 kilometres
of paths. You will experience an impressive view of
the rivers that are born in the reserve and this is
a very entertaining way to appreciate the biological
wealth.

6 RINCON DE LA VIEJA NATIONAL
PARK AND VOLCANO - The 1,916 m high
Rincon de la Vieja National Park is a stratovolcano
covering 400 square metres formed as a result of the
simultaneous volcanic activity of various eruption points,
which grew and became a single mountain. At the foot
of the volcano on the southern side is the area called
Las Pailas. Here, there are thermal springs, solfatara
lagoons, orifices where jets of steam rise up, and little
mud volcanoes. In this massif, 257 bird species have
been recorded, many mammals and numerous insects. The
park protects a great ecosystem of hydrographic basins.

7 CANOPY TOUR - SAN JOSE
- During the morning we will take an exciting Canopy
Tour at Rincon de la Vieja Lodge. The Canopy Tour features
21 different platforms and one hanging bridge, all with
1.5 kilometres of cable traversing the canopy of the
primary forest. In the afternoon you will leave the
lodge and drive back to San Jose.

8 DEPART SAN JOSE
- We transfer to the International Airport for your
return flight.

9 ARRIVE LONDON
- Your flight arrives back in the UK early this morning.
