1.  Retrace the footsteps of the American soldiers who landed in Normandy in June 1944 to help free Europe from the Nazi yoke and be humbled at the graves of the thousands of young men who did not return. Conclude your visit to Normandy with a visit to the Caen Peace Memorial.

2.  The War to end all wars was fought mainly in France. Relive the horror and glory of World War I with a visit to Verdun. Pay tribute to those that lost their lives in the name of freedom at the cemetery and the Ossuaire Douaumont, a memorial to the fallen soldiers.

3.  Explore the narrow streets of Mont St.Michel whose history, architecture and spectacular site combine to justify its description as 'The Wonder of the Western World."





 

4.  Paris is known as the City of Lights, however it could just as easily be known as the City of Art. Explore a few of Paris' finest art collections. Begin in one the worlds foremost collections in the Louvre, followed by the Impressionist period's finest sculpture at the Musee Rodin, and conclude with a stroll through the unique Pompidou Center, featuring work by the 20th century masters.
5.  Journey outside of Paris to visit the Sun King, Louis XIV's majestic palace and gardens at Versailles. In addition to epitomizing the age of Enlightenment, the palace also served as the venue for the historic peace negotiations following World War I.

The Loire Valley is one the most beautiful regions in France. Explore the magnificent Chateau spread throughout the area, and be sure not to miss Chateau Chenonceau.

7.  France is more than just Paris. Journey off the beaten path and visit a few of France's lesser known cities. Amiens offers a magnificent Cathedral and claims to have the head of John the Baptist. Lille is France's second most important city for Art. The unique and lovely roof tops of Dijon make this a must visit. Admire the German influence in the northern region is Strasbourg.

Experience the beauty and magic that attracts the rich and famous to the French Riviera. The lovely hilltop town of St Paul de Vence is a perfect compliment to the relaxing beaches along the coast.

Add a recreational activity to your trip. Visit Parc Asterix, one of France's best theme parks featuring the characters from a famous French cartoon.

10.  The city of Nimes offers many of France's best-preserved Roman sights, including the marvelous Amphitheater.
