Trinity
College is the oldest university in Ireland, founded in 1592
by Queen Elizabeth I. It is situated in the heart of the city on a
beautiful 40-acre site just south of the River Liffey with cobbled
squares, gardens, a picturesque quadrangle, and buildings dating from
the 17th to the 20th centuries. The college's Old Library is home
to the Book of Kells, an 8th-century version of the four Gospels
with elaborate scripting and illumination. |

Castle is a formidable castle built in the 15th century which

of Cashel, a monumental cathedral complex, complete with high
crosses and round towers. The Rock of Cashel, was the stronghold of
the kings of Munster for seven centuries,dominates the surrounding
landscape in County Tipperary. It was here that St. Patrick is thought
to have converted the Kings and made the shamrock the emblem of Ireland.
