# 86 THE TEMPLES & PALACES OF KYOTO, JAPAN
Kyoto is the most historically significant town in Japan, its former capital, and the only major Japanese city spared from the bombs of World War II. As a result it's rife with temples, shrines, imperial palaces, and traditional wooden homes. Kyoto is also home to the nation's greatest concentration of craft artisans, famous for its shops dealing in textiles, dyed fabrics, pottery, bambooware, cutlery, metalwork, fans, and umbrellas.
# 87 THE STUNNING BEAUTY OF HAKONE & MOUNT FUJI, JAPAN
A visit to the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park will offer visitors just about everything a vacationer could wish for including hot-spring resorts, mountains, lakes, and breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. Vistors can take the Hakone Tozan Railway, visit the Hakone Open-Air Museum, take a Cable Car from Gora to Sounzan, walk the Owakudani Nature Trail, take a Boat Ride across Lake Ashi, and view Mount Fuji from the Hakone Check Point.
# 88 THE TAJ MAHAL, AGRA, INDIA
The world-famous Taj Mahal is surely the greatest monument to love, as well as one of the architectural wonders of the modern world. The monument was completed in 1652 by skilled craftsmen from Persia, Turkey, France, and Italy. Over 20,000 laborers worked for 17 years to build this edifice, commisioned by emperor Shah Jehan as a mausoleum for his beloved Queen, Mumtaz Mahal.
# 89 THE ROMAN REMAINS AT EPHESUS, TURKEY
The ancient city of Ephesus is one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world. Highlights of the visit include: the Amphitheater, where St. Paul preached to the Ephesians; the impressive remains of the Library of Celsus; and ancient Roman Streets, with original mosaics still intact. For those groups not visiting Turkey exclusively, the excursion to Ephesus is included in the 4-day Aegean Cruise, which can be included in your custom-designed itinerary to Greece.
# 90 THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE, AUSTRALIA
A specialist-guided tour of the world famous Sydney Opera House is a must-do activity for any visitor to Eastern Australia. Located on the waters of Sydney Cove, only a handful of buildings around the world are as architecturally and culturally significant as the Sydney Opera House. Amazingly, it is a working building, and most people are surprised to learn it's not just an Opera House but also a full-scale performing-arts complex, with five major performance spaces.
# 91 SNORKLE THE GREAT BARRIER REEF, AUSTRALIA
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most impressive natural wonders of the world. Our groups can take a boat trip to Agincourt Reef for some of the finest Snorkeling or Diving. Groups can also board a Submersible Boat with a local biologist to take a guided underwater tour, traveling through the reef to view the magnificent corals and brilliantly colored fish.
